- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Toast bread for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Mash avocado in a bowl until smooth.
- Spread mashed avocado onto toasted bread.
- Poach egg in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, or until the whites are set and the yolks are cooked to desired doneness.
- Place poached egg on top of avocado toast.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately and garnish with optional ingredients if desired.
