- Preheat the slow cooker to low heat, approximately 275°F (135°C), for at least 30 minutes before cooking
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up into small pieces, until it is fully cooked and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes
- Drain the excess fat from the browned ground beef and transfer it to the slow cooker
- Add the remaining ingredients to the slow cooker, stirring to combine
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the flavors have melded together and the chili has reached the desired consistency
- Season the chili with salt and pepper to taste, about 30 minutes before serving
- Simmer the chili for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together
- Serve the chili hot, garnished with desired toppings
