Cajun Butter Sauce Recipe

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tbsp (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) paprika
  • 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) onion powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) cayenne pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) chicken broth
  • 1 tsp (5g) dried parsley
  • 1 tsp (5g) dried dill weed

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning and stir until well combined.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is fragrant.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  6. Let the sauce cool to room temperature.
  7. Whisk in 1/4 cup of heavy cream until smooth.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  10. Serve the Cajun butter sauce hot over desired dishes.
