Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 2 1 /4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk in flour, until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
