Crispy Holiday Treats

A sweet and crispy holiday treat made with flour, sugar, butter, and chocolate chips.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes (optional)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix ingredients together until a dough forms, about 5 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. Cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter.
  5. Place shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving 1 inch of space between each treat.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  8. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve and enjoy.
