- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Cut the bacon into 1-inch pieces
- Wrap each piece of bacon around a water chestnut or a scallop, if using, securing with a toothpick
- Place the bacon-wrapped appetizers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease
- Serve warm and enjoy
