Karkade (Hibiscus Iced Tea)

A refreshing iced tea made with hibiscus flowers, water, sugar, and lime juice.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Boil water in a large pot, then add the hibiscus flowers.
  2. Steep the hibiscus flowers in the boiling water for 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture has reached the desired strength.
  3. Strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove the hibiscus flowers.
  4. Add sugar to taste, if desired, and stir until dissolved.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator, then serve over ice.
