Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups diced fresh mango
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced fresh cilantro
  • 1 habanero pepper seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) for roasting, if necessary, although it's more common to prepare salsa without oven use.
  2. Chop fresh ingredients into small pieces to ensure a uniform texture in the salsa.
  3. Combine all the chopped ingredients in a bowl, making sure to mix well.
  4. Squeeze any citrus juice over the mixture to add flavor and help preserve the ingredients.
  5. Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine all the flavors and textures.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary to achieve the desired balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy.
  7. Refrigerate the salsa for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  8. Serve the salsa chilled or at room temperature, garnished with any desired fresh herbs or additional ingredients.
