- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix together 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder in a large bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted, to the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Combine 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 large egg in a separate bowl, then whisk until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
- Arrange 3 cups of sliced peaches in a 9x9-inch baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the peaches, covering the entire surface.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.
