Roasted Cabbage with Bacon

A simple and flavorful dish made with roasted cabbage and crispy bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage (2 lbs)
  • 6 slices of bacon (180g)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C)
  2. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick slices
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes
  4. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate
  5. Add the cabbage slices to the same skillet with the bacon drippings and sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side, until slightly browned
  6. Transfer the cabbage slices to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  7. Top each cabbage slice with a piece of cooked bacon
  8. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cabbage is tender and caramelized, flipping halfway through
  9. Serve hot, garnished with additional bacon if desired
